North Carolina Medicaid only covers incontinence supplies when they are medically necessary. For products to be medically necessary, a doctor must confirm that they are needed to treat or manage a condition. Only a doctor or other qualified medical professional can make this determination.  

In some cases, North Carolina Medicaid might require that they pre-approve the incontinence products before you can receive them.

How to Get Your Supplies

To use North Carolina Medicaid to get supplies, you must first go to a doctor and get a diagnosis. A diagnosis from a doctor is required in order for your supplies to be considered medically necessary. Once a need for incontinence has been confirmed by a doctor, you may be able to use North Carolina Medicaid to get supplies.

After you’ve visited the doctor, call us to set up your orders. Each month, we’ll send you the supplies you need and bill Medicaid on your behalf. Our team will also handle the paperwork for you, so you don’t have to worry about any of the complicated details.
