Incontinence Supplies and Minnesota Medicaid | HCD

Minnesota Medicaid covers incontinence supplies.

Trying to get incontinence supplies can be a major burden for people with smaller incomes. But if you have Minnesota Medicaid, then there’s good news for you: Your benefits could provide coverage of your  supplies.

Are Incontinence Supplies Covered by Minnesota Medicaid?

Minnesota Medicaid coverage does include incontinence supplies as a covered benefit.  This means that products such as adult briefs, bladder control pads, or pull-ons could be received at little to no cost.

Coverage Requirements

Minnesota Medicaid only provides coverage of incontinence supplies if the products are medically necessary for treatment of the condition. In order for product to be considered medically necessary, a doctor must diagnose the condition and write a prescription for the products. In some cases, your supplies may have to be pre-approeved before coverage of supplies can begin.

Once a diagnosis is complete, you may be eligible to use your benefits to get supplies.
